About

Large Exotic Animals

At Middle Creek Veterinary Hospital & Exotic Animal Clinic, our team is committed to maintaining the health and well-being of all animals, including those who are not easily categorized. Not only do we focus on caring for dogs, cats, and exotic animal pets, we also cater to those who aren’t exactly pets and those who most people would only see at the zoo. Our doors are open for almost any creature who will fit through them. If not, we may be able to come to them.

Your North Carolina Veterinarian for Local Zoos and Privately-Owned Large Exotic Animals

At Middle Creek Veterinary Hospital & Exotic Animal Clinic, we pride ourselves in offering comprehensive care for all sizes and species of exotic animals. As a trusted destination for unique animal care, we are well-versed in the intricacies of treating these animals and have a deep understanding of the challenges unique to these magnificent creatures.

Large Exotic Animal Care

Have you ever tried to get an unwilling housecat into a cat carrier? Imagine doing the same thing with a large exotic cat such as a Serval or a Lynx. Prevention of disease is absolutely necessary in a zoological-type setting. Illnesses and diseases are even more difficult to treat in exotic animals that are extremely large and/or dangerous. We provide the same top-tier veterinary care for large exotic animals, just with a much different approach!

Large exotic animals need routine care and annual check-ups. This may look different from a “typical” vet visit. To ensure the safety of these creatures and our staff, many of these animals require sedation for hands-on medical care.

In addition to annual exams and habitat/treatment evaluations, our team can also act as the site veterinarian for USDA-accredited facilities. As such, we assist with the development and implementation of the associated programs of veterinary care. Our state-of-the-art facility includes advanced equipment to help diagnose problems before they become threatening. We can provide diagnostic testing, surgery, and advanced anesthesia monitoring. In our comprehensive laboratory, we can test for various ailments and get same-day results.

Compassionate Large Exotic Animal Care

We understand how challenging it can be to maintain a large exotic animal in your home. At Middle Creek Animal Hospital and Exotic Animal Clinic, we are committed to providing quality, compassionate services to all your creatures. We aim to help you prioritize their health above all else.
